The Doctoral Student Self-Government of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań took first place in the “Best Doctoral Student Self-Government” category and UAM was ranked third in the “Pro-Doctoral University” category. The awards gala took place on November 19 in Warsaw and was organized by the National Representation of Doctoral Students, Warsaw Doctoral Students’ Alliance and the Council of Doctoral Student Self-Government of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

– We pay attention to ensuring that doctoral students are able to function in the best possible way at the university, that they have the means and conditions to conduct research,” rejoices Prof. Przemysław Wojtaszek, vice-rector for research projects and doctoral students. – The whole environment, lecturers, promoters and all the procedures that are assigned to doctoral schools are important – all so that doctoral students can fully reveal their potential, Prof. Wojtaszek adds.

The award was received on behalf of the University by Marta Rajewska, chairwoman of the UAM Doctoral Student Self-Government, and Marlena Kazmierska from the self-government.
